Twenty years ago, Vice President Al Gore followed the global success of “An Inconvenient Truth,” by inviting 50 people to his Tennessee barn to learn about the climate crisis – and how to make a difference.

Those first 50 trainees became the first Climate Reality Leaders and the start of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps, a global network of leaders driving change everywhere from local governments to solutions startups to international summits.

In 2026, we’re marking 20 years of inspiring climate leadership and action – and inviting you to join the next generation of Climate Reality Leaders.
